Independent guidance
Advertising Disclosure
How advertising is separated from editorial content on Multi Source Media.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the publisher responsible for Multi Source Media. Confirmed legal operator details and a postal address will be added here when they are supplied.
How the site is funded
Multi Source Media is configured to display third-party advertising served through Google AdSense. Google selects and delivers display adverts using its advertising systems and may work with advertising partners. Revenue from display advertising can support publication costs, but the presence or value of an advert does not decide which films, television programmes, games, services or products receive editorial coverage.
Separation from editorial work
Editorial subjects, wording and conclusions are chosen for their usefulness to readers. An advertiser does not receive advance approval of an independent article merely because it buys advertising through Google. We do not change a conclusion to satisfy an advertiser, and we do not treat advertising copy as evidence of a product's quality.
Advertising appearing on the same page as a title, company, service or product does not mean that we endorse it, have tested it or have a direct relationship with its provider. Automated advertising can also be contextual or based on other signals controlled by the advertising platform rather than selected by our editorial team.
Identification and placement
Adverts should be distinguishable from editorial content through their format, placement or labelling. Readers should not have to mistake an advert for our recommendation. If an advert appears misleading, unsafe, obstructive or insufficiently identified, use the Contact page with the page address and enough detail to investigate. Do not click a suspicious advert merely to collect information.
Paid placements and supplied material
We do not present paid placement as ordinary independent editorial. If the site accepts sponsored, paid, supplied, affiliate or other commercial material in future, the relevant relationship will be disclosed clearly where a reader encounters it. A label should describe the nature of the relationship in plain language; a vague tag should not be used to conceal who influenced or paid for material.
Receiving a press release, review code, screening invitation, access opportunity or product information would not by itself guarantee coverage or a favourable conclusion. If an item or access materially affects how a reader should understand a piece, that context should be disclosed in the piece.
Advertising technology and privacy
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, secure, limit and measure advertising and, where permitted, personalise it. Their processing is subject to applicable requirements and their own information. The Cookie Policy explains the site's current consent-control status, while the Privacy Policy describes personal-data handling more broadly.
Recommendations remain qualified
A positive editorial view is not a guarantee that a work, service or product will suit every reader. Availability, compatibility, specifications, prices and terms can change. Our Editorial Policy explains the standards for sources, recommendations and corrections, including the need not to imply testing that did not occur.
Questions and concerns
Use the Contact page for a question about an advert, a possible commercial relationship or the separation between advertising and editorial material. Include the relevant page and date where possible so the issue can be assessed without making assumptions about a changing advert.
