Independent guidance
Editorial Policy
How Multi Source Media prepares, reviews, discloses and corrects guides to films, television drama and video games.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the publisher responsible for Multi Source Media. Confirmed legal operator details and a postal address will be added here when they are supplied.
This policy explains the standards Multi Source Media applies when preparing and maintaining editorial content about films, television drama, video games and home entertainment choices. It describes an intended working method, not a claim that a particular page has been independently tested, fact-checked by a named specialist or reviewed through a process that is not documented.
Purpose and scope
We publish enthusiast guides, commentary and practical information. Coverage may discuss a work's story, craft, structure and audience; explain legitimate UK routes for watching or playing; or help readers frame decisions about streaming services, consoles, accessories and home setups. Our aim is to be useful without disguising opinion as fact or publicity as independent judgement.
Editorial standards
- Useful: a guide should help a reader understand a work, ask a better question or make a real choice.
- Clear: editorial opinion, factual description, quotation and time-sensitive information should not be blurred together.
- Proportionate: the care and sourcing given to a claim should reflect how specific, changeable or consequential it is.
- Independent: display advertising does not decide subjects, wording, recommendations or conclusions.
- Respectful: criticism should address the work and relevant conduct without avoidable intrusion, discrimination or harassment.
Sources and verification
Suitable sources depend on the claim. Primary material such as an official release, platform listing, product documentation, regulator information or the work itself is preferred where it can answer the question. Reliable secondary reporting can provide context or independent confirmation. Publicity material may establish what a distributor or publisher says, but it should not be treated as proof of quality.
Names, dates, quotations, platform support and technical claims should be checked before publication where they are material. Availability, catalogues, prices and service terms are especially changeable, so a guide should signal that readers need to verify current information. If evidence conflicts or remains incomplete, the uncertainty should be stated or the claim omitted.
Recommendations and reviews
A recommendation is an editorial judgement, not a universal promise. The basis should be intelligible: the experience considered, the reader it may suit, the practical limitations and the factors that influenced the conclusion. We do not invent hands-on testing. If an assessment is based on specifications, documentation or other sources rather than direct use, the wording should not imply otherwise.
Readers should verify current availability, compatibility, total cost and terms before acting. Reviews and guides do not replace professional advice where installation, safety, finance, health or law is involved.
Advertising and commercial material
The site is configured to use Google AdSense display advertising. Ad placement does not give Google or an advertiser editorial approval or control. We do not present a paid placement as ordinary independent coverage. If paid, supplied, affiliate or otherwise commercial material is introduced, the relevant relationship must be labelled clearly where readers encounter it. See the Advertising Disclosure.
Corrections
Use the Contact page with the page address, passage concerned, explanation and reliable supporting information. We assess specific correction requests against suitable sources. Where a material factual error is confirmed, the page should be corrected promptly and, when useful to understanding, the nature of the change should be made clear. Minor spelling, formatting or clarity edits may be made without a separate note.
A disagreement with an opinion is not automatically a factual error, but relevant evidence should still be considered. Requests involving privacy, copyright, safety or legal concerns should be identified clearly so they can be routed appropriately.
Updating and accountability
Older material may remain useful even when details change. A page can be updated, qualified or withdrawn when its central information is no longer reliable. We do not silently promise a fixed review schedule for every page. This policy itself should be revised if the actual editorial or commercial process changes.
