Cookie Policy

How cookies and similar technologies may be used on Multi Source Media.

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the publisher responsible for Multi Source Media. Confirmed legal operator details and a postal address will be added here when they are supplied.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files or similar records that a website or third-party service can ask a browser to store. They can hold an identifier, a preference or information about an interaction. Related technologies, including local storage, pixels and device identifiers, may perform similar functions even when they are not technically cookies. In this policy, “cookies” is used as a convenient collective term.

UK consent rules

Under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, storing information on a device or accessing information already stored there generally requires clear information and consent unless the operation is strictly necessary for a service requested by the user or another specific exemption applies. Where consent is required, it should be a real choice and should be capable of being withdrawn as easily as it was given.

How the site may use technology

  • Essential delivery and security: hosting or security services may use technical information needed to deliver pages, balance traffic, detect misuse or maintain a requested feature.
  • Preferences: a feature may remember a choice so it does not need to be made repeatedly. Whether consent is required depends on the purpose and circumstances.
  • Advertising: the site is configured to use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver, limit, secure and measure adverts and, where permitted, to personalise them.

Google advertising

Advertising is provided through Google AdSense rather than selected as part of our editorial coverage. Google and participating advertising partners control the specific technologies they use and are responsible for their own privacy information. An advert appearing beside a title, product or service does not mean that it has been editorially endorsed. Read our Advertising Disclosure for the separation between advertising and coverage.

Current consent-control status

The current local site implementation does not include an on-site cookie banner, consent-management platform or settings control. It therefore does not presently offer a site control for accepting, rejecting or later changing non-essential cookie choices. This status must not be mistaken for consent. A suitable mechanism and its operation need to be confirmed before the publisher relies on consent for non-essential storage or access.

Until such a control is implemented and verified, you can use browser settings and any controls supplied by the relevant third party. Browser controls are not a substitute for a consent mechanism where the site is responsible for obtaining consent, but they can help you inspect, block or remove stored data.

Browser and provider controls

Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies, restrict third-party storage, or clear site data when the browser closes. Blocking technologies may affect features or require preferences to be entered again. Controls vary by browser and device, so use the current help information for the software you use. Google also provides information and controls for advertising through its own services.

Changes and questions

The technologies used by the site may change when features or providers change. This policy should be updated when a consent mechanism is introduced, when cookie purposes change or when verified retention details become available. Use the Contact page for a question about cookies, consent or advertising data. For wider information about personal data and rights, read the Privacy Policy.
